Hello, Neighbours of Ward 7. Thank you for all those who voted in yesterday’s Election!

Hello, Neighbours of Ward 7. Thank you for all those who voted in yesterday’s Election!

Running for office is never just about the final tally on election night… it’s about opening doors that were once closed. As a diverse candidate, I knew this would be an uphill battle, but the journey for a better Ward 7 continues…

I am incredibly proud of my transparent and honest campaign in our strive of creating a better Ward 7, together.

My candidacy uncovered the real issues of our shared community, spoke truth to power, and shone a light on the critical need for true integrity in our local government.

More than anything, I am profoundly grateful for the deep relationships gained and the unwavering support of my neighbours!

The most touching moment of this journey happened right at my doorstep, when a few kids from the neighbourhood came by to tell me they used me as the example for their school project about the election. Seeing the spark in their eyes and the ripple effect of providing a face and a voice for visible minorities who now know they belong in these spaces is, wholeheartedly, a monumental victory that no election result can ever take away!

My commitment to you does not end with yesterday’s ballot. I will continue to fiercely advocate as a dedicated community member of Ward 7! Ensuring our diverse voices are heard, demanding transparency, and holding our leadership accountable to their actions and promises!

Let’s keep this momentum going! The work to build a better Ward 7 does not stop because the election or campaign has ended! Stay tuned… the journey continues! -RN
